Dear Gardeners,

Hello again gardeners!  Please do not be discouraged if you have some plants that are not doing well.  Many gardeners are still harvesting delicious veggies!  It's also not too late to plant more. Click this link to see more ideas of what to plant in July from the Mother Earth News:

Please see the following information below about the garden this week:

*FARMER'S MARKET- The farmer's market will be held on the farm property again.  Parking may be challenging.

*FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS- Please bring your donations to the LINK booth at the farmer's market.   Your donations of fresh produce are greatly appreciated!

*MILK FUNGICIDE- This solution is already mixed for you!  It consists of unpasteurized milk and water.  It will be available on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until it is used up.  Spray this mixture on your plants to prevent powdery mildew.  Please bring your own spray bottle.

Happy Gardening!

Dear Gardeners,

I hope your veggies are perking up after all that rain!  We had almost 5 inches of rain over a three day period.  My "moat" border around the Demonstration Plot turned out to be helpful in preventing flooding!  As your garden dries out, I recommend you come by and aerate by gently scratching the soil with a cultivator.  This is a great way to save your plants.  It makes your garden look nice and neat too!

Please see the following information below about the garden this week:

*PLEASE NOTE- The field trip to The Talking Farm in Skokie which was originally scheduled for tomorrow, July 15 will be rescheduled for September.  Date TBA.

*FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS- There will be a wagon at the South gate of the Community Garden for any donations you would like to donate to the Northfield Food Pantry.  The wagon will be there on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

*ANOTHER PLOT RELINQUISHED- If you know anyone interested in a garden plot, let me know!!!

Happy Gardening!
